Other Catalogs

If you are unable to locate the resource you need through MeLCat, there are other catalogs you can use to order books and media.

HopeCAT - Search the Library Catalog

 Example Keyword Search:        tibet buddhism

                                                         (see search results)

From results list, find a title that looks good – click on it!

  • Notice where your “keywords” appear in the record (they will be in RED)
  • Take note of the SUBJECTS listed near the bottom of the record
  • Clicking on the subject links will take you to another page of related subjects and thus, similar items in the library

Not finding many books on your topic?  After trying a search, look for the

link to do the same search in WorldCat, a joint catalog for libraries throughout the United States and beyond.  You can request items using ILL button in the record:

e-books

Many of the books that are listed in HopeCat are electronic books to which Hope College has access.  While you can use HopeCat to search by author, title, subject, or other words in the record, you can also search the full text of these books by using the links below.  Each of the icons searches a seperate set of books.
