There are many fantastic images collections freely available on the web. Most are familiar with doing a Google Image search. However, these kinds of searches rarely unearth the millions of images available in museum and library digital collections. A few major examples are listed below. However, you can find more of these collections by browsing the websites of most major art museums and research libraries. For images related to a specific part of the US or another country, try looking for historical society collections or national archives of those areas.
