Website Creation: An exploration of content management platforms: Drupal

This guide seeks to compare some of the mainstream website content management platforms. Each platform is listed with a list of different features available, available plans, and any other notable information about the tool.

Introduction to Drupal

Drupal is a free, open source content management platform.  It is similar to wordpress in many ways in it's customization capabilities.  To use Drupal, you will need to have your own domain hosted through another provider such as Reclaim Hosting.

Using Drupal

Drupal requires a domain and a download in order to use as a content management platform.  This give ultimate control to the website creator and makes using Drupal very affordable.  Through Drupal virtually all features and needs are feasible.  However, since it is so customizable with a few set themes and "core modules" to get you started and use as templates for all of you pages, it has a relatively high learning curve and may require coding expertise.
