There are many different types of online resources and tutorials available for assistance learning and navigating Wordpress. The following links include reputable resources both through Wordpress and through outside sources that are helpful for getting starting:

This link is a dictionary of Wordpress terminology that may help with planning and designing a Wordpress site.
Homepage Tutorial
This link contains step by step instructions for how to create a traditional website homepage instead of a Wordpress blog homepage.
