Ethnic / Multicultural Studies (General): Finding Books

This is the main portal to databases and other library sources for ethnic/multicultural studies research at Van Wylen Library, Hope College.

Searching the Library Catalog

Use Hope Primo to search for books on ethnicity and multicultural studies.  Perform keyword and subject searches using terms such as "cultural pluralism", "cultural fusion", "multiculturalism", "ethnicity", "ethnology," "ethnic relations", "ethnic conflict", "ethnic groups", "race", "race relations", "racism", "minorities", "immigrants", "immigration", and "emigration and immigration".

Keyword and subject searches can also be conducted on specific groups and cultures (e.g. hispanic americans -- education).  Some reference sources provide keywords that can assist you with your searches, including Keywords for American Cultural Studies and New Keywords : A Revised Vocabulary of Culture and Society.  Additional reference sources are available here.
