Your employment at the Circulation Desk is renewed each semester, and most Circulation Assistants choose to work at the library until they graduate. We highly value the experience and enthusiasm our returning students bring to the Circulation team. Should you decide to end your employment at the library before you graduate, you are expected to notify your supervisor in writing with at least two-weeks notice before your final day of work.
Giving two-weeks notice is standard practice in the outside job market. It is courteous to your team and to your supervisor, and it also allows you to transition out of your current position on good terms. Quitting without notice can burn bridges, damage opportunities for future work at the library, and prevent your supervisor from being able to provide a positive reference for you when you apply for future jobs and programs.
If you choose to resign from the Circulation Team, email your supervisor with two-weeks notice and specify your final day of work. You will be missed!
